House of Glam Delivers a Higher Form of Nightlife for NYE LA Revelers Yearn for the Illusion of "Surface" - Los Angeles LOS
ANGELES -- New Years Eve has transformed into a competition of the
massives -- big-ticket events that leave partygoers standing shoulder
to shoulder against "thousands of their closest friends," packing the
crowd into another mainstay venue of bottom-shelf booze and cheap
appetizers. What started as a NYE specialty has now become commonplace
to every other week of the year. House of Glam, a subsidiary
of Climax Global, has taken a step back to refocusing on atmospheric
transformations and sensory enhancements, the details that truly make a
NYE event unique. Glam is the leading events-production company for
niche Hollywood, a specialty production house led by Carl Choi and Ben
Tran. Running Los Angeles nightlife for over a decade, Choi and Tran
knew that this NYE had to be about turning an illusion into reality. "Not
surprising, the women of this town rule our events -- so we listen
intently to their wishes. Successful, stylish, smart and beautiful,
they are always looking for ways to bring enhanced value to their party
lifestyle. They want experiences that make them feel like they've been
whisked away to Paris or taken to the Taj Majal. We focus on creating a
sense of grandiose glam," remarked Choi. House of Glam is
creating an experience that exudes elegance, intimacy and glamour --
all to benefit a very noteworthy and LA-centric cause, the Little Tokyo
Service Center. The theme of the event, "Surface," plays on the
underwater submersion and fantasy of a present-day Atlantis. Glam also
plans to take this year to another, more virtual level, by featuring a
live broadcast of their New Years Resolution Confessionals on
Xanga.com. Members will log in even before the event begins to get a
preview of the night. Throughout the evenings, visitors can follow the
festivities, watch their friends' videos and have live interactive
chats with them. "This time around we took a step back to
refine the tiny details that matter," said Tran. "With water illusion
walls, giant aquatic ice sculptures, flowing waterfalls and themed
entertainment. Our NYE event will feature an appearance by FM (Fareast
Movement), Power 106's DJ Virman and Glam's DJ Quickie, and a French
fusion menu by Akira Hirose of Maison Akira." The event is
co-hosted by partners Party Til AM, Xanga.com, Asian Professional
Exchange (APEX), the Little Tokyo Service Center (LTSC) and the
Taiwanese American Professionals (TAP). Contributors include Verizon
Wireless, Universal Records, Warner Brothers Home Video, Budweiser,
Tokyo Pop, The Little Bra Company and Catch Music Group. Surface
will be held at Vibiana (210 S. Main St., Los Angeles), in the heart of
hipster downtown Los Angeles, beginning at 9pm. Tickets to Surface NYE
Event hosted by The House of Glam are available online at www.thehouseofglam.com, starting at $80. VIP packages are also available. For more event information, email surface@thehouseofglam.com. |
